Paladin Heads
Active filters
To Moorish heads, Ceramiche De Simone responds with Paladino heads!
Unlike the traditional Moor's Heads, an extremely popular Sicilian ornament, the Paladin Heads depict the paladins of Carolingian-era literature, known to the general public for the Chanson de Roland. The paladins were the king's most valiant knights and were the protagonists of many stories with their exploits. In particular, oral transmission brought them to Sicily through the so-called Opera dei Pupi (puppet theatre), which has become one of the most heartfelt traditions of the Sicilian people and which persists to this day. Magnificent are the depictions of the knights, also through the famous puppets, which we wanted to pay homage to by creating handmade and hand-painted ceramic paladin heads. These are presented in the form of vases, so they also lend themselves to the function of plant and object holders in general, as well as being prestigious and beautiful furnishing accessories. Excellent for furnishing any room in the home, Ceramiche De Simone paladin heads are also ideal for premises open to the public such as restaurants, hotels and B&Bs that wish to give an extra touch of style to their interior decorations.
